“Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.”
I completely agree. Success is not measured by how much money you earn — even though sometimes success can bring financial rewards. True success is, above all, a feeling. It is the deep satisfaction that comes from achieving something while staying true to yourself: liking who you are, loving what you do, and appreciating the way you choose to do it. Some people chase money and applause, but in the process they lose themselves. They break their principles, they cheat, and they receive praise only because of what they have, not who they are. But is that real success? Do they truly like themselves? Do they love what they do? Or are they simply miserable people with money — unable to even stand themselves? True success begins inside, not outside.

A Little Monkey, a Big Lesson, and a Treasure Found in the Amazon.
In the heart of the Amazon jungle, where the trees sway like dancers and the air buzzes with life, lives Yuri — a curious little monkey with a big imagination. Like many children, Yuri is full of questions, always exploring, always discovering. But one day, his curiosity leads him to an unexpected adventure that teaches him one of the most valuable lessons of all. While jumping between branches and peeking under leaves, Yuri bumps into something strange on the jungle floor. Is it a hat? A seat? Maybe even a drum? No — it’s a treasure box! Excited by this mysterious find, Yuri decides to fill the box with “treasures” of his own. He gathers a small red crab, a friendly frog, and even reaches for a dazzling butterfly fluttering nearby. But when he tries to catch this delicate creature, Yuri suddenly finds himself trapped — hanging upside down by his foot! His frightened cries echo through the jungle until a little girl appears and gently frees him. At that moment, Yuri begins to understand something important: the jungle isn’t just his playground. Every creature, big or small, has a life, a home, and feelings of its own. What he thought was harmless fun became a lesson about empathy, respect, and caring for others.
What Yuri Learns Through His Adventure Empathy
Yuri realizes that the tiny creatures he tried to collect are not objects but living beings. Just as he felt scared while trapped, the crab, frog, and butterfly might also feel afraid when taken from their homes. Generosity & Kindness The little girl’s act of helping him, even though she didn’t know him, shows Yuri the beauty of kindness. Her gesture becomes a model for him — a reminder that helping others, not taking from them, is a true treasure. Understanding Others Yuri discovers that every living creature has a place in the world, and respecting that place is part of living together in harmony—whether in a jungle or a community. A Story for Young Hearts and Growing MindsYuri and the Treasure Box is more than an adventure—it’s an invitation for children to think about how their actions affect the world around them. Filled with humor, surprises, and heart, Yuri’s experience becomes a gentle guide to understanding empathy, responsibility, and respect for all living things. This story reminds us that sometimes the greatest treasures are not objects we find, but lessons we learn along the way.

Kenny and His Great Invention was inspired by a wonderful Canadian couple — he, a physicist; she, a psychology student and polyglot.
They loved penguins and filled their home with them in all shapes and sizes. When I opened my daycare, they gifted me my first — a humongous penguin! After a fruitful and inspiring life, he sadly passed away during the pandemic, but his kindness, curiosity, and love for learning continue to inspire me. This story was written in his honor — a reminder that creativity, love, and friendship can live on through what we share with others.
In this heartwarming tale, Kenny, a curious and clever penguin, loves spending his time building and creating different objects. One morning, he wakes up with a brilliant idea for the local science competition: he wants to build a spaceship!
Not only does Kenny hope to win, but he also dreams of being the first penguin to go to space. With the help of his best friend Louise, he works tirelessly to bring his invention to life. But when it’s time to present his project, something goes wrong — the spaceship engine falls apart right in front of the crowd. The audience is disappointed, and Kenny feels defeated. Will he and Louise figure out what went wrong? Can Kenny repair his spaceship and follow his dream among the stars? Through Kenny’s journey, young readers learn about friendship, perseverance, forgiveness, and the joy of discovery. The story reminds children that mistakes are part of learning — and that imagination can take us anywhere. Kenny and His Great Invention is available in English and Spanish on Amazon and at www.emmasplace.ca.
