Summer invites us to slow down and appreciate life's simple gifts. The warmth of the sun, the laughter of children, the songs of birds, the colourful sunsets, and the beauty of nature remind us that growth and joy are all around us.
But perhaps the greatest gift of summer is the one we cultivate within ourselves. The Summer within your Heart: is part of the Season Within poems and is a reflective poem about carrying the spirit of summer in our hearts. It encourages us to pause, breathe, notice the beauty around us, nurture our dreams, and let our lives blossom with kindness, hope, and authenticity. As you read, I hope you are reminded that every season offers an opportunity for personal growth—and that the warmth, light, and wonder of summer can become part of who we are, wherever life may lead us. Enjoy the poem, and may you discover your own season within.
The Summer Within Your Heart
Summer arrives with a warm breeze, with laughter, play, and endless days. The backyard fills with joyful moments, as nature whispers its sweetest comments. The sun stays longer in the sky, while beautiful sunsets paint the world with colours bright. Animals buzz around us, and our surroundings burst with vivid colours and life. We stop and look. We need to carry summer inside us. We pause and think. We breathe deeply, close our eyes, and allow ourselves to reflect. The warmth of the sun, the colours of the sky, the laughter, the sparkling eyes, the feeling of being alive. Do not let winter take root inside your heart. Reflect, refresh, and make a fresh start. Stop and notice your surroundings. Let nature embrace you. Let your dreams grow within you. Let your feelings paint your own colourful sunset. Live fully. Live authentically. Live freely. Live with joy. Be yourself during these summer days, for this is what summer says. Combine the season outside with the season within. Let your life grow, blossom, and bear fruit, just as nature blossoms in summer. Let your heart blossom, forever full of wonder. Emma Ugarelli
