A Village Fete Murder. Author Katie Gayle. It is the third book of the Mystery Book Series. The character Julia Bird is a retired social worker who loves to solve murders. Julia is enjoying her village life; she is dating the town doctor, helping at a local store, and baking a cake for a contest at the annual celebration. But Julia has a knack for finding dead bodies, and this time is no different. She and her friend take their dogs to a maze, where Jake, her Labrador, stumbles upon the corpse of a woman who was also competing in the cake contest.
